The Samaritans Suicide Prevention Center provides a confidential suicide/crisis hotline, suicide prevention education programs, a support group for those who have lost a loved one to suicide, and a monthly community newsletter.

The Trevor Project operates a crisis and suicide prevention helpline and provides online support to young people through their Web site. In addition, lifesaving guidance and vital resources are provided to educators and parents.

The Skidmore Pride Alliance offers a fair and safe forum for discussion and aids the queer community at Skidmore College by raising awareness, outreach, and understanding of issues pertaining to sex, sexual orientation, and gender identity/expression at Skidmore and in the community at large .

Campus Pride is a national nonprofit 501(c)(3) organization for student leaders and campus groups working to create a safer college environment for LGBT students.

The RPI Pride Alliance is a resource for gay, lesbian, bisexual, transgender, and questioning (GLBTQ) students, alumni, faculty, staff, and their allies at Rensselaer Polytechnical Institute.

The GLBT Student Pride Network is a listing with links to GLBT student organizations in New York State.

PFLAG (Parents, Families and Friends of Lesbians and Gays) includes mothers and fathers of gay children as well as other family members and friends. Gay men, lesbians and bisexuals are encouraged to participate in the group's meetings which usually occur on the 4th Monday of each Month.

The Albany County Crime Victim and sexual Violence Center provides crisis counseling to rape victims over a 24 hour hotline and advocacy and support for victims in area emergency rooms and police stations. All services are offered free of charge.
